  Supreme Court verdict on Final year examinations 2020  is finally here. Exams are Mandatory. While the State orders of cancelling the examinations have been upheld, Supreme Court has announced that the degrees cannot be granted without the examinations. The states can, in turn approach UGC to extend the September 30 deadline. . it has also ruled in favour of UGC and said exams mandatory. If a state wants final exams to be postponed beyond UGC deadline of Sept 30, they have to consult UGC for fixing fresh date for final examination in that state.

JNTUH (JNTU-Hyderabad) :  In compliance with the directions of AICTE/TSCHE, all the students who are detained due to shortage of credits in the academic year 2019-20 or in the previous academic years are promoted to study next year of his/her course. The same information was already communicated to all the Principals (point 4 in ref. cited above). Accordingly if any student, who was detained due to shortage of credits, approaches your college, such students may be given re-admission. You are also informed to identify all such students who were detained due to shortage of credits in any of the previous academic years and intimate about their promotion, so that such students will be benefitted. Further the students who have not registered for the semester exams are also eligible for promotion. JNTUH B.Tech/B.Pharmacy 2,3,4 Years I, II Semesters Academic Calendar for Academic Year 2020-21 University Updates   www.forum.universityupdates.in Note :  Commencement of 1st Semester Class Work From  24th August 2020 UGC has issued revised guidelines on examination and academic calendar for all Universities, in view of the COVID-19 on 06.07.2020. All the ACITE approved institutions / universities are requested to follow UGC Revised Guidelines on Examination. Accordingly, AICTE issued Revised Academic Calendar for 2020-21 for Technical Institution (ref 2). In view of the above, the classes commence from  24.08.2020  for the existing students (under JNTUH) of technical courses, both UG and PG.  Initially, the classes will be conducted in online mode for 2 to 3 hours per day and based on situation classes may be conducted for 4 to 5 hours in blended mode following the prescribed protocols/guidelines related to COVID-19 . The Principals of non-autonomous colleges are informed to send the options of the students on or before  25-08-2020  (refer the ref.1 cited above). It is also requested to furnish number of students that your college can accommodate (following Covid-19 norms). JNTUH Mobile App :   Android App  &  IOS App ​ JNTUH (JNTU-Hyderabad)  All the Principals of colleges offering IV year B.Tech and B.Pharm courses are informed to note that  the University is exploring feasibility to conduct the IV-II semester examinations  of B.Tech/B.Pharm courses to the students at the centres which are near to their respective hometowns/ villages. The Principals are requested to make arrangements to contact all final year students and take atmost three options (in the order of preference) from each student for writing their IV-II examinations. The places which the students are opting must have at least one JNTUH affiliated Engg. / Pharmacy college. The students who desire to write the exam at their parent college (where the student is studying), need not give their options.
